What You Need to Know When It Matters Most.

Whether you're navigating legal paperwork, medical forms, or end-of-life decisions, having a trusted notary on your side matters. Below you’ll find answers to the most common questions Elite Notary Signing receives—so you can move forward with clarity and confidence.

Common Questions

What should I do to prepare for a notary appointment?

Make sure you have a valid, government-issued photo ID, and bring all pages of the document—even if only one page requires notarization. The document must be complete and unsigned before your notary arrives (unless otherwise instructed).

How do I know if a document needs to be notarized or witnessed?

Most legal and medical forms will state this in the instructions. If you’re unsure, we can help you determine the appropriate notarial act, but we cannot give legal advice. Always consult the issuing agency or an attorney if in doubt.

Can you help me figure out what type of notary service I need?

Yes. We’ll ask a few questions to understand the purpose of your document and guide you toward the correct service—whether it’s a general notarization, certified copy, apostille, or something else.

Do you provide witnesses if I don’t have any?

Yes, witness services are available for an additional fee and must be scheduled in advance. Let us know how many witnesses are needed and whether they must meet any specific requirements.

What’s the difference between a certified copy and a notarized original?

A certified copy is a notarized statement confirming that a copy matches the original. A notarized original is when a notary witnesses your signature on the original document. The purpose and wording will vary by document type.

What are your travel fees and when do they apply?

Travel fees start after the first 5 miles from Duluth, GA, at $2/mile roundtrip. Same-day requests may include an added $25–$50 fee depending on time and availability. All fees are confirmed before booking.

What happens if I’m running late or need to reschedule?

We allow a 10-minute grace period. If you're running late, contact us as soon as possible. Rescheduling is allowed with proper notice, but no-shows or late cancellations may be subject to a service fe.

Do I need to print my own documents, or can you bring them?

You’re welcome to print your own, but if needed, we can print up to 10 pages free of charge with advance notice. Additional pages may incur a small fee.

What areas do you serve for mobile notary services?

We serve metro Atlanta counties including Gwinnett, Fulton, DeKalb, and parts of Forsyth and Hall. Some zip codes may include a travel surcharge. We also offer limited coverage outside this area upon request.

What’s the difference between a mobile notary and an online notary?

A mobile notary travels to you in person. An online notary performs the service via video using specialized platforms. Georgia limits online notarization, so we currently offer in-person service for most documents.

Can I prepay or send someone else on my behalf?

Yes. You can prepay for someone else, but the signer must be present with valid ID. If you're coordinating for a loved one, let us know in advance so we can verify all details.

Is notarization the same as legal advice?

No. Notaries verify identity and witness signatures—we do not interpret or explain the law. If you need help understanding a document, we recommend contacting an attorney.

Are your services confidential?

Absolutely. All client documents and conversations are kept strictly confidential in accordance with Georgia notarial law and our own professional standards.
